Why Autumn Life?

Often as people enter the Autumn of Life their thoughts turn to spiritual matters. Questions arise such as, "How do I cope with loneliness and pain?", "How do I find meaning in retirement?", and "What's heaven really like?"

The challenge is that people who face these questions aren't sure where to turn. Many don't have a church home or a clergy member with whom they have a friendship. But they still need someone they can trust and talk with who takes time to listen.

That's why Autumn Life began. Autumn Life's Founder is Rev. Jerry Amstutz. Known for his relational skills, Pastor Jerry is a man with whom people quickly feel comfortable. He delights in bringing friendship, encouragement and hope to those in the Autumn of Life and those experiencing an Autumn-like time, such as life changes or bereavement.

Pastor Jerry has enjoyed visiting with people since becoming an Associate Pastor in 1979. He has been a Senior Pastor in Baptist and Methodist churches since 1987. One of his favorite activities has been to develop ministries for those who've celebrated their 55th birthdays and beyond. Pastor Jerry and his wife of 25 years enjoy their two teenage children.
